Was not a Tim Burton film but it was from the director of Nightmare Before Christmas. They did a really great job on the movie. The stop animation was what I expected. You can watch it in 2D or 3D. 3D is a much better way to watch it. They make it seem so real, like some parts are coming at you. So if you like Tim Burton or Henry Selick, give the movie a try and watch it in 2D or 3D, you decide what you like better.

Tsakura : 2-D Version

Right away you can see Henry Selick’s style and magic! The feel of this movie is just plain weird! I love it! =P I think that’s why I was drawn to it. After I saw the trailer on iTunes, I know I wanted this movie when it came to Blu-Ray. I wasn’t disappointed! This movie comes in 2D and 3D! You get four pairs of 3D glasses for the family. If you were bad… we know who wont get a pair. =P I first watched it in 2D just to see how the movie was. So, this is my 2D review.

Ok, what is this movie all bout? It’s based off of Alice in Wonderland! That’s just how it feels to me. We first meet Coraline as she moves into a new House apartment. She then goes looking for a well. That’s where she meets a strange boy named, Wybie. Later when she is exploring the house, she finds a Door behind the wallpaper. After she gets her mother to open it, she finds… a brick wall.

Later that night, she chances some jumping mice downstairs and into the small door. When she opens it, there is a tunnel where the brick wall was! She goes through it.

What does she find? What is it? Her own house? She comes out the other side to find herself in her house! She can’t understand why, but something isn’t right. Then she smells something good in the kitchen. When she goes in, she is surprised to see her mother cooking! When her mother turns around, she has buttons for eyes!!! She then says that she is Coraline’s “other-mother”. From there on, Coraline is in Wonderland. Everything is better there, and she is the center of attention! Everything seems to be going perfect for her! Until one night, she is asked to stay. To do this, she too has to sew buttons on her eyes!

Coraline freaks out and tries to leave. After she escapes, she finds that her mom and dad have been taken by her other – mother! Now she most get them back!

This was really fun to watch! I liked how the brought the book to life. I loved how Neil Gaiman used the idea of Alice in wonderland and gave us this! It is a great movie to see! Check this one out!!
